Recently, after taking a lengthy break from professional conducting to find and direct a music conservatory in Burnsville, MN, Scott has returned to the podium full of passion and energy.
Within weeks of re-launching his professional conducting career Scott secured orchestral conducting work with an impressive list of ensembles including the Dakota Valley Festival Orchestra, the St. Paul JCC Orchestra, and more. In September, 2009 Scott was appointed to two long-term conducting posts with the Minnetonka Civic Orchestra and the Trinity Orchestra.
Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in musicology at St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN) and has completed work on a Masters of Music degree in French horn performance at Minnesota State University (Mankato, MN). His conducting teachers include Steve Amundson and Craig Kirchhoff.
Scott brings exceptional musicality, creative programming and strong passion to the groups that he leads. In addition to his solid skills on the podium, Scott has over a decade of teaching and business development experience that truly sets him apart among up and coming conductors.
